Microwaves is a physics simulation model dealing with microwaves. It shows how a microwave affects molecules to produce heat. The microwave oven, which makes everyone's lives easier works because of microwaves. These microwaves agitate water molecules in food and drinks and cause vibration, and this vibration causes heat. So the application presents this process in details.
There are four different modes. The first one features a single water molecule. When you turn on the microwave, a green line that represents a microwave starts moving, and, in turn, it moves the water molecule. There is a thermometer to the left of the animation that shows increase in temperature. You can change the microwave's frequency and amplitude, and each change there causes the line to move differently, thus agitating the molecule in different ways.
In the second and the third modes there are simply more molecules. The fourth mode is basically identical to the previous two, but there water molecules are inside a coffee mug. Here, you can change the power of the microwave instead of the frequency and amplitude.
